| The second The Occasional Keepers album was recorded in February 2008, and again produced by the band with Ian Catt. This band is an ongoing collaboration between Bobby Wratten (The Field Mice, Northern Picture Library, Trembling Blue Stars), Carolyn Allen (The Wake) and Caesar (The Wake). Retaining plenty of acoustic, reflective elements from the previous record, True North adds experimental, song-based pop touches to great effect. Beth Arzy (Aberdeen, Trembling Blue Stars) also guests, while Caesar and Carolyn revisit their own illustrious past on the track “Factory Records”. Tracklist: ”If The Ravens Leave”, “The Cricket Laced Midnight”, “Town Of 85 Lights”, “Leave The Secret There Forever”, “The Life Of The Fields”, “Factory Records”, “I've Realized, Snow And Feathers”, “Elsinore” and “A Distant Piano On A Foggy Night”. |

| The Orchids are back after 14 years of silence! With 10 brand new tracks! This often overlooked Scottish five-piece made a bunch of ace singles and three excellent albums on Sarah records between 1988 and 1994. From the early years of jangly guitar pop, sometimes compared to Felt, to the guitar pop/dance/electro merge on their last two albums there’s a striking amount of elegant pop melodies waiting to be discovered. And now there’s a fourth album to add, and a truly great album too. The dancey side from their third album “Striving For The Lazy Perfection” is absent, these songs are more of a journey back to The Orchids’ roots in guitar pop - but now in a slightly more mellow way. “Good To Be A Stranger” proves that The Orchids have an excellent talent for writing intelligent pop music. Welcome back! Tracklist: “Good To Be A Stranger”, “Take My Hand”, “Xylophone Song”, “I Need You To Believe In Me”, “The Last Thing (On Your Mind)”, “Another Saturday Night”, “Down To The Ocean”, “Feel The Magic”, “Do It For Yourself” and “You Could Do Something To Me”. |

LTM’s three disc compilation, with liner notes by Alistair Fitchett, of The Orchids catalogue is probably the most necessary reissue of 2005. This CD contains the newly remastered reissue of The Orchids classic debut mini album “Lyceum”, originally released on Sarah records 1989. The bonus tracks include all the tracks from The Orchids’ first three singles on Sarah; “I’ve Got A Habit”, “Underneath The Window, Underneath The Sink” and “What Will We Do Next?”. Also included are both sides of the rare 7” single released on Bob Stanley’s Caff label.
